- From Bangkok to Singapore: the final countdown
Three flights, two long layovers, and seven meals later, it's time for the last and final leg of my journey to Singapore.
This flight was booked as a separate itinerary. No OneWorld airline could otherwise get me to Singapore via Japan, so I booked this ticket separately using Aeroplan miles in Economy class. The total cost was only about 8k miles, which is a total steal!
Given this was a separate itinerary with a totally different airline group, any delays or cancellations would have been completely on me to figure out. This is why I also scheduled a long layover in Bangkok (but of course, I ventured into the city and did some shopping, so it was still an efficient use of time).
Sidestep - The Coral Lounges at BKK
Before I get into the flight, I made a stop into one of the MANY Priority Pass lounges at BKK. Seriously. There are 16 Priority Pass lounges at BKK. SIXTEEN. A lounge-hopper's dream!
I chose to visit one of the Coral lounges closest to my gate. Though this location is much smaller than most others, it was a significant step up from most lounges in the US. The bar was pretty lackluster, but I wasn't drinking much anyways.

The food buffet itself deserves its own dedicated section. The curry here was a little spicy but SO GOOD. I couldn't stop eating! I ended up having 3 full plates of curry and rice (much to the ire of the staff, I think).

The Flight
The seat itself was similar to any Economy class seat, standard legroom. I'm not a fan of the European airlines that try to pass off 29 inches as "normal" legroom. Thai Airways, at the very least, didn't try to pull a fast one there!
The flight otherwise was a little bit uneventful, being such a short hop from BKK to SIN. There was a small light meal service, which was unexpected. I didn't eat much because I had loaded up on calories from the lounge, but from the one bite I took it was pretty decent.

At least the views were pretty good :)
